Bah the camera control in the 3d window is basically poo-poo. Why cant they do it like GTK radiant, where u only hold the right mouse button to turn the camera and use the wheel to move around. its alot easier to use and faster too, and if you dont got a mouse wheel just use the keyboard...

I know the feeling m8. Thats why I make my houses and stuff in GTK radiant and import it at the last minute in Graydiant.

hold ctr+right mouse button to move allong x and z axis and hold ctrl+shift+right mouse button to rotate camera at current point

GTK radiant is a map makin program. It supports alot of games check the site www.qeradiant.com
