Hi folks, got the itchy map making fingers again and am starting a map based at a small desert oasis. As in the topic heading I was wondering if the name mp_oasis has already been used to anyones knowledge? Also am going to need to get to grips and model some palm trees. Can anyone tell me what format to save a 3d model needed for an xmodel?

theres a map called The Oase, it was a good map as well.


and btw, where abouts is that sand texture, i want it for my beach

I may even make this one another night one and call it "midnight at the oasis"

You can find that sand texture in Italy, there is also a damp or wet one.

Well I may get round this one by making it a night time one..

"Midnight at the Oasis" or "Rock the Casbaar" or "Desert rat Campaign" The terrain will not be all flat like in the pic. It will be German v British, dm, tdm, s&d, re if I can do it and maybe ctf.

Desperately need some palm trees though.. hint hint !! lol

there has never been a nightime desert map to my knowledge...lets see some originality

i would make a wall round the base, have u ever played conflict desert storm on ps2, quality game, take a look at that it will give u some wicked ideas for a desert map
