Hi there,

i made shootable lights and while they are on a small fx is running.
How can i turn fx off when my light are shooten off? the fx still running...looks weird :D

I don't see any function that is capable to stop playing one certain fx. If there's no function like this, the only way is make a loop, which could play "light" fx. If you shoot it, you should brake that loop. This will stop fx from being played.

If I'll find better way, I'll post it here [duh]

if you used spawnfx and triggerfx, you can delete the fx entity to free it.

fx = PlayLoopedFX( id, ent, tag );
// ...
fx delete();

if you delete the entity fx, it might stop playing the fx.

I don't know if its solved allready , but Fx delete doesn't work.
I mostly play a fx at a script_model with the tag_origin model attached.

Then do playfxontag(fx,entity,"tag_origin");
then move the entity -999999 z below its own origin.
This has the same effect , because fx's can't be stopped in my opinion.

well, if it's a one-shot fx you need to trigger it again and again, but you decide when you stop it.

playfxontag is the best imo, 'cause it updates the position in realtime (other than attached models on vehicles in cod5).
