omg, i have no idea wat to do!!!
im gonna cry seriously... i dont know wat this this is!!!
i just wanted to be a map maker, but all these sites say, "heres the beginner stuff, now just operate ur world spawn to...(what is a world spawn!?!?!) also, u may want to save compile (do u even care wat i know here ) and add these .pk3 files to ur map. and ur set to go!" i understand none of this i hate it!

sorry if i seem kinda mean but im soooo frustatred... if i could just do one thing right...
i cant figure out how to save and tes it...
i cant figure out how to set the map types u play it (like tdm, hq)
i cant figure out how to even highlight more then one brush, cus i see that A LOT on ur guys tutorials...

im hopeless and i HATE it!!!

Ok, try downloading and watching the video tutorials in the CoD Section. They teach a lot and HELP a lot(specially if your a visual learining type of person).

To select an item im pretty sure you hold the SHIFT ubtton down adn click on the brush u want to select.

1> to select a brush, hold shift and click the brush
2> to make a pk3, make a zip file with all the stuff in it (maps/mp/urmap.bsp is the main thing) and rename the .zip to .pk3
3> only put dm spawns for now, till u know more about mappin
4> worldspawn is selecting the all skybox sides (6) and press N (theres a tut on skyboxes) and type the values in

those were just a few of the words, thers a bunch more... thanks for the help i guess, ill check out those tutorials, cus video sounds easy to understand

for now, i just want to test it, explain to me exactly how to make it a playable map, becus i could not load some of those videos.

Most things can be found either in the tutorials or by using the 'search' option on these forums.

Hi, I really can't like make anything other than floors, how do I make stuff like houses, brush, or even a background???

There is a great tutorial in the CoD tutorial section on the left called 'Your first room'. Read it.


edit: Also read more tutorials there, like the one on worldspawn and skyboxes (for your background).

Okay, thanks. I made some nice houses. But I have a few more questions:

-What do the "actors" do?
-How do I make and play an SP Map?
-How do I make doors?
