Just thought I'd let you know, I'm experiencing general slowness on the site - slow to load, slow to send PMs, slow to post, and slow to redirect after an edit to a post.

I am aware others are experiencing it, as there are cases of multiple postings - a indication of slow server responses.

Yep, I am one of those victims. I am guessing maybe the videos are slowing down the site? Like the modsonair? I am saying this b/c usually any form of video on a site can usually slow down the site. Youtube for example, for me slows down the site. Maybe it's not modsonair, I don't know, but whatever it is, it is slowing the site.

I've noticed a slight slow down, it's not terrible but it's definitely not as quick as it used to be.

I'm using Google Chrome by the way.

If anyone else has issues post here and let us know your web browser and the details of the issue: when does it happens and what happens.

I use firefox. I don't think the browser is the problem since b/4 there was no problem. The problem happens always. I bookmarked modsonline, and every time I access it, it takes a while, maybe 3 - 5 seconds, to load. When I am posting in the forums, generally, it takes a while to load.

Thanks for posting guys. I've been noticing something over the past week and am having a hard time pinning down the cause. This morning i did some stat checking and believe the issue is related to the 99,000+ members registered on the site. The slow down occurs at this point of loading the page... checking to see you are who you are and that you are allowed to do whatever you are doing.

The slow down is happening sporadically. I'd like to trace it further before coming to any final conclusions. I do know it's not modsonair which is hosted on the same server. The MODSonair videos are hosted on Vimeo and Blip and not on this server for the same reason sam_fisher3000 mentioned.

In the end, I might just have to upgrade the whole server. Get something faster running.

Ok, what happened there? For about 15 mins, although I have remained logged in, I was treated like I wasnt - I couldnt post, couldnt edit one of my posts (and although I am a preferred member, it gave me the "you have exceeded the 10 minutes" crap), and couldnt PM.

At the bottom of each thread I had posted in, was the little "stop - register" icon, telling me I wasnt a member.

I thought it might be a cookie issue, so I cleared everything, nada! Tried other browsers and got the same.

Then, magically, everthing was ok again. What gives?

@foyleman - please ignore the email I just sent you at your main website addy.

yea i also experience a slowness. It was probably about a week and half ago. When i would click log in it would log in and take a while before it redirects me, and once it never even redirected me. Also once it told me your info is not found on the server but at the same time it said it was login me in.[ohwell] and it stood like that for a min. cause i wanted to see if it would log me in or not, which it didnt. weird....maybe someones trying to hack the site and put an aweful virus?[sad] steal accounts and watnot? like they did to that other site? XD i would hate that. But i dont thats gonna ever happen.

ugh. so the site is still running slow.
I'm looking into new servers. Hopefully I can order one tonight. Once setup (either that night or by this weekend), I have two weeks to complete the move. I tell you this to give you an idea of how long it will could take to fix this problem.
Of course I would attempt to get it done asap. Just gotta remember how many files there are that need to be moved remotely from one server to another.

I made a couple of adjustments. Has the speed improved any?
I am in the process of getting a new server.

Let me update that... I think I found the problem with the current server. Since posting the first message above, I made one more change and it's looking great. Now to solve it without the band-aid.
