I've taken a big break from mapping and now I'm starting to get back into the swing of things (still rusty). I set up a new PC and installed the tools. One of the most strangest issues I am noticing is the clipper tool.

Normall, I CTRL-Right Click a brush and then SHIFT-ENTER to cut it in half. Used to work fine before, but now when I SHIFT-ENTER the entire brush gets deleted. What happened?

Also, side question... what is the hot key to drop an entity to the ground again?

sry that stupid reply but you have maybe pressed that button above shift (dont know how it is called in english) well i didnt try but that could be the reason because usually it works as you said

it's called CAPS LOCK

you may have created a brush that is considered impossible by the editor (sorry im tired cant think of a better way to say that)

try setting your grid lower when u clip ..or higher...

sometimes if the brush already has angles they disappear too...

if it should work and just wont. copy the brush and cut 2 of them in half and delete the overlap...i had to do it for some beveled plinths i made and wanted to extend.

Just to follow up, I think it's just a weird bug with Vista Ult 64 bit. Sometimes if I take a brush and clip it and then it deletes the entire brush, I will close the editor and restart it. Then it works. Weird

@infinet: I have that on a Win XP Pro 32 bits system, so defo not a Vista 64 bits only issue, just a damn buggy tool. Oh and 'X' is toggling the clipping function.

@simon: err left-key 'Shift' ??? just use the right-key 'shift' and the key above it will be 'Enter'
