i followed this tutorial: http://wiki.treyarch.com/wiki/CoDWaWSound

  1. my custom sp mainmenu sound worked using an uncompressed PCM (RIFF) wav
    - 16bit
    - 44.1 khz
    - stereo
    but it was 25 mb.

  2. so i tried
    - 8bit
it successfully converted using modsound, but the game simply didn't play it. there was no error or warning in console log.

  3. i tried
    - mono
but same thing (no music, no error)

  4. - 22khz
    now modsound failed

  5. - xWMA encoded
file size 907 KB (!) in original PCM quality (!!!), but
error: "incorrect length" in console, however modsound converted it successfully

  6. - xWMA encoded, without modsound encoding
    error: "missing PRIV chunk"

  7. - ADPCM encoded
    no sound, no error

  8. - ADPCM encoded, without modsound
error: "streaming file does not have the PRIV chunk"

25 MB is way too large, there are PCM compression settings for a decent quality at 6 MB, but freakin cod5 won't play it :(

did i miss anything? any ideas how workaround/fix the incorrect file length error or to bypass the PRIV chunk requirement?
