Hi Guys,

been making a map in the quake 4 editor and i made some slanted walls for part of the map. just wondered if any of you have seen this before:

when you jump off the top of the wall you slide down the slanted part at a slower speed than you would if you just fell off a flat wall.

is there any way to stop this from happening? so you just fall down it? is there like a material or surface property you can apply to make the player slide quicker? like ice! some sort of variable that can just be applied to those faces?

have only started making maps in quake 4 for the last 3 days! any help would be much appreciated ;)

I'm pretty new myself at mapping but I do know that the NPC's can't climb a slope more than 45 degrees. Have you tried making the slant steeper?

thx for the reply man,

the map is actually multiplayer only so the npc thing isn't relevant really.

as for changeing how steep the slant is, the problem seems to happen whatever the slant is! i have decided to leave it as it is.

i cant really change it too much as it is a remake off a map so has to look fairly similar.
