ERROR: portal has the same cell on both sides, portal ignored...

Have looked this up and Im at a loss to where the problem is. I have 3 long windows on the back of my church and have placed brushes in there fitting edge to edge with the entire brush having the portal nodraw and then placing the portal on the other face... so what could be the issue?

Hi mate!

You got a leak somewhere, make sure your building is structural and not detail, you've done everything right so there is nothing wrong with your portals, its your building, so give it a good scrutiny and try and find the leak.

Trying to find a leak in this church is going to be like finding a needle in a haystack... maybe I just skip portaling this building for now lol

Damn... that wasnt fun at all lol... fixed "all" the leaks and then got 3 errors about "node without a volume" and that wasnt fun either. Anyway... back on track again finally and got the church portaled.

Thank goodness I pay attention because I read about using Pointfile but there is never a .lin file in my folder even though I see it saying it made one, so for the heck of it I opened up folder and ran compile and wadda ya know... .lin got made and then just vanished at some point into the compile. So I ran it again and while still compiling I opened the file and copied the contents and created a .lin on my desktop... did that for each leak until I snagged them all. [rocking]

You can normally safely ignore the "node without a volume" errors.

As for the leaks, CODWaW doesnt always (actually is more like never) creates a .lin file so the technique to use is to get the coordinate from the Launcher Console and hunt them down one by one.

Well I didnt think it was being made either till I watched my folder during compile and saw it created... then vanish a few seconds later. So I had to be quick to click on it, open it and copy the contents before it vanished. [lol]
