"Cause one is the loneliest number that you'll ever do. One is the loneliest number, worse than two"

Three Dog Night made that line famous, and for the most part has been the spirit of video games since their inception. What's better than playing through a game? Doing so with a friend of course.

That seems to be the spirit, behind the latest interview with Robert Bowling, director of communications of IW. Bowling was asked about co-op, and if it would be featured in Modern Warfare 2. He had this to say,

"We don’t do co-op in our story because we’re crafting a very specific experience and we don’t want to ruin that by cramming co-op into it. We take the moments that work really well with co-op, we bring them out and we put them in Special Ops." he continues, "Sometimes moments get toned down because they don’t fit with the pacing of the experience you’re trying to deliver. There (in Special Ops) it’s all about fun. It’s about playing over and over again, getting a better time – you’ll have a time at the end of it – it’s about challenging a friend going in on co-op and trying to beat it on veteran."

So, there you have it. Modern Warfare 2 will have co-op multiplayer in a manner of speaking. You won't be able to play through the story with a friend, but will have Special Ops mode. This will be two player co-op, not four, due to the reason stated by Bowling...it would be a total clusterf**k.. ;)

Old news is old. [cool]

Plus Special Ops has only been confirmed as LAN and Splitscreen so far, probably not too enticing for PC gamers/modders.

I hate this line so much!!!! Co-op is 10x more fun than playing on your own!!
