When I try to compile paths or reflections or any of the other compile options that need WaW to start during their compile WaW crashes like I get that window that says Send or Dont send this error to microsoft....I have no idea what I did for this to happen....compile was working fine yesterday..

Any ideas?

I try to make note of any changes I make to a map before each compile. It helps to figure out what is making the map crash after.

Think back to whats new since your last successful compile.

ooops! See we posted replies at the same time.

Using multiple prefabs shouldnt be a problem though....

I've made swinging light prefabs and used them multiple times without a problem, make sure you set them up correctly!

ya i found out the problem...my swinging light prefab had a script_noteworthy on it from when I was trying to figure out how to connect a light to them before finding out that its impossible.

Its not impossible, it's kinda tricky as you have to make sure that at no point the dyn light can swing and affect other dyn lit world brushes and models.

Check out the Zombie Asylum map, right hand side of the elec room near the kitchen.

Same here, I think it was down to how I set up the light though.

I can easily get the info null to swing around casting shadows in certain places if the null is at the light source.

Which is not good because the light points to the light source... that's not right lol

So the thing to do then is create a hinge constraint, I should really go back and look at it again but I have no need for it in any maps right now. Maybe if I get bored later.

edit or a spotlight? Because it's not attenuated by the angle of the spot direction... aka the light beam does not point at the null but the shadows do? Interesting.
