What are layers and how do I use them???

They are a way to link together entities on your map so you can decide to have them affected all at once without touching the rest .

I believe the options available for layer are

  1. hide;
  2. freeze.


just call the layer option windows by pressing the 'L' key and right-click on the layer in the tree view for more details on the options.

By default every new entity is added to the active layer, but you can set the active layer and attach any selected entities to this layer; just right click in your 2D window.

Just play around a bit with it to get used to the idea and its implementation in radiant.

yes, but only in radiant to keep track of all entities once your map becomes complex. it does not "link" like triggers and spawners or affect the map at runtime (script) in any way.
