Hi Toasty, neither I think is legal! Is it XP pro or XP Home?

I think you can request from Microsoft an extension to the licence to install on one more PC but I am probably wrong on that count. Just think I recal reading it somewhere.

If its XP Home of course it has to be activated (30 days)

If its XP Pro....... weeeelllllllllllllll hhuuuuummmmmmm thats all I'm saying . [wink]

Hi Toasty, contact Microsoft and see what they say! I feel certain big Bill will extend the licence to your laptop.

Its worth a try and would keep you on the right side of the law. [casanova]

You are allowed to extend the licence to one other computer in your household for XP Pro.

Again the safest bet is to just call them and explain it. To be honest and fair to micro....[puke] soft they are quick in getting a responce to you.

Cheers

and as for the registration thingy....it doesnt really do anything in the 30 days except lock your desktop down so you have no icons and start bar. Microsoft was "smart" enough to put a link to thier licence agreement page and with that it opens an internet browser you can use to browse you whole comp. [devilishgrin]
