I'm trying to work on some custom skins and i read the stuff you guys have posted and i did it and was wanting to know what i'm doing wrong? I went in the pak3.pk3 file and took out the .dds files i need and made a folder named "skin" and put them in it and i went to my gimp2 and edit the color and saved the file after the color was right I then zip the file to make it into a .pk3 and named it zzz_UserSkins.pk3 and tried it out on the server and this is what i got

any help would be awesome because no detail or anything just blank color[confused]

Lol, That looks pretty cool the way it is.
Anyways, I only know how to skin in CoD:WaW

But when you took the .dds did you turn it into an .iwi before you packaged it?

it looks like only the hight map is showing did you place the .iwi back into the same folder type as it is in the root of the game
e.g. raw/images

meaning 1 folder named raw and in that folder a folder named images and in that folder is ware you put your .iwi

or did you put it in your own named folder?
it has to be in the same folder or the model will not load it

no it didnt turn into a iwi so it is still the .dds file.

now i used winzip instead of winrar so now i'm getting an error that says skin leg has changed for scan to load so whats that and ty[confused]

Don't worry about the iwi thing or height/bump/normal maps, that's for CoD2/4/WaW

Is the .dds the same format as the original (DXT1/DXT3/DXT5) and with mipmaps and the same size?

Also check the console for the error message, it normally says why it can't load the image (what you're currently seeing is the default texture for CoD1/UO)

what i did was go into the .dds file and changed the color and then hit save not save as or anything else and then add to zip and made it into a pk.3 and it gave me an error on the server and said that the file had been changed between scan and load so whats wrong?[confused]
