seeing as no one has replied im guessing it cud be coz of a few things , either its not enuf pay, people arent confident enuf ( when all imafter is a real simple map) or people just cant be arsed.
I already reassured one point there, as a final offer i will bump the price upto £200, i use paypal or can send cheque what ever the modeller prefers.
Note: this will be my final offer, this will skint me, but worth it

Yep, i have made many maps for many clans for free just because I love mapping... I dont think any1 is accepting because (a) they cant trust that you will give them the money, and (b) there aint that much ut2k3 mappers out there.
Its not a hard editor to master. keep the two hundred quid and spend a month learning how to make maps yourself.....
If you post your idea here with relivent diagrams, drawings, etc Im sure that some1 may say... yeah thats a good idea, and make it... then you can download it for free afterward... (i say for free, they may charge, I actually think its illegal, but dont hold me to that).

Yes, it is very illeal to charge to download the map. I don't think it's illegal to pay someone to make a map, however, but that's not an issue anyway.
I downloaded the Unreal Editor and, contrary to what Janova said, it was quite complicated. The reason I had so much trouble is because it was a CSG Subtract world rather than a CSG Add world. Think of UT maps starting off a a huge solid chunk of wall. The way the Unreal Editor works is you then dig holes into that wall - you carve your map into the world... Rather than adding in a wall and a tower, you have to subtract the pieces away, leaving only the tower's frame...
It's really really weird. The whole construction brush thing was annoying too - there was not as much free hand as there is with CoD Rad or any other form of id technology radiant. For instance, in Unreal Ed you have to specify dimensions with numerical values for the construction brush, you could not manually size the brush to a dimension that meets your fancey.
So that's why there aren't so many UT mappers, so learning for yourself would benefit the community as well as yourself.
I am just a little peeved that the Unreal technology is so backwards because the Unreal Engine 3 will undoubtably have a similar SDK (sort of like Doom 3's editor is very similar to other id Software Radiants) and thus I wont be able to map any of the next-gen games until I learn to put up with the backward style of editor :( |

ah, i see, well thanx for the replies, i do understand where you are all coming from, but -
A.) i Cud pay over paypal no problems,
and
B) i have tried to learn and its just too complex seeing as im artistically inept, the person who i would of paid to make it for me i would of asked him/her at certain parts how he/she went about making the map in general, kinda like a last resort for me to learn the program and also get a working example of somthing i have tried and failed to do
well thanx anyway, but the offer still stands if anyone is interested
