Yep, I am in the same bag here, with a single 19" CRT ....

Can you make those dlable? I prefer to have the vid file than a buffered vid.

There is still 50 - 60 movie files to be edited first... this is just a preview of what is coming to town... Still a little while off, but making good progress.

Nice movie tutorials M.C. I started doing something similar with my MP_FLOOD map but when it got to a point I realised the map was so big it got too difficult.

What are you using to record then produce them? Your menu on left makes it look really professional!

I was using Wink to record and produce tutorial with instructions. Not as fluid as yours but it was working. The ideal was to do the map from start to finish. In the end I stopped as I found the files were getting so big, wink would crash and I would have to restart the segment again. Some segments of the map I redid 4 or 5 times before I got it without crashing. I also had radiant resized to 800x600 on my 22" screen. That is itself made it difficult [banghead]

My projects always start out with good idea or plan then it grows into a mammoth and overpowers me [lol] [duh]

Keep it up. A mapping tutorial from start to finish will be recieved with open arms by many.

Thank you mate... I have been doing movie editing for quite some time now, and keep file sizes as minimum as I can go for flash, but also keeping it good quality. I use a multitude of applications to get to what you see in that movie..
Basically time wise, whatever the recording is x6 is the time spent. But is a passion for me, just like the mapping...

If you're interested, I am will to develop a playback interface on this site to playback FLV files on demand... stream them actually. I can host and stream them via an online player.

Of course there are other options such as vimeo, blip, etc. They too allow large file uploads and global playback. I actually used vimeo for may last couple of vids as well as allowing downloading of a higher quality from this site.

I can upload large vids to the modsonline vimeo account since we have a subscription. I'm willing to share some space with you if needed.

Really just want to make sure your vids get online and out to the public when the time comes.

Thank you for that offer mate. I am currently building a website that will have all the vids banked up and catagorised. I have an unlimited account with wizardworks hosting now as it is number 3 of the fastest server hosts in the US, with unlimited bandwidth, so I may like to host it there so I can monitor the analytical statistics, and ensure fast downloads for the US and Europe. I will also make a mirror site here in Australia to take care of our good people this end. And of course the credits are linked to here, a great home for all the best knowledge. The front page is also linked straight back here as well as RGN, nowhere else needed. If this option doesn't work for me then I would very gratefully take you up in your offer. Are there any limitations to the sizes or dimentions? I have all the movies in 640x480 and expandable to full screen. My own deadline for this 1st set of 60 movies is around 6-8wks all going well. (that time goes very fast... for me anyways...) [crazy]

Great effort and good work on this project MC I'm sure that people will wait no matter how long you take. I look forward to seeing the end product myself.

Dual monitors have become the staple of many a modder/mapper these days so save up those coins and grab yourself another one when you can, even two CRT's are better then one. I'll be moving things up a notch in the next few weeks myself (eyes aren't what they used to be) from 2 x 24" to 2 x 26". Heck, I might have to go with jenckes and make the big move to 2 x 42"

Again great work on this MC.

Cheers

I can't foresee limitations, however I don't have fully unlimited bandwidth.. just a good amount. In the end it depends on the amount of bandwidth they require. As for Vimeo... I can't think of any limitations. If ever needed, let me know and we'll discuss the details. It sounds like you have it all taken care of. You can use me as a fall-back.
