I saw the video tut for mapping waw, I am just getting back into mapping and wanted to give it a shot for waw. I was wondering if the startup operation for a new map has changed? Do you need to use the launcher or just open radient and begin a new map? anyone got the steps that work?

I'm pretty sure you just click the "Create map" button to start a new map. Supposedly it will make some basic game files you'll need for whatever you name the new map. Personally, I've been too damned lazy to put the work into a new map. But Radiant can't fix that problem. [lol] Good luck getting back into it tho'.

ya, that's what I did but when I opened the map, there were stuff in it. I thought it was just suppose to make the file, not put stuff in it.

Yep. It uses a standard map template to get you going.

\bin\Launcher\map_templates\Multiplayer\map_source\mp_template.map

Single player too.

Welcome back Jaimie...

Was wondering if you'd ever give it a bash again...
Come over to www.gpsnipers.com for a chat, we have got it working and 5 of us mapping all the time. You might remember us from the old days, but now we have made our own very healthy growing group.

Remember you taught me mapping in the old UWS days, well mate, let me pay my dues back and teach you. TS and Teamviewer and I will have you back to the way you were mate.

Obviously your free to map for what you want but recent discussions show that mapping for waw at this point maybe a waste of time.. If your looking to get back into it i would suggest creating a caulk shell (no ents/textures), so your able to port it to mw2.. Just my two cents

True.. you have a point, so basically what we are saying is modders and mappers will soon be sending there versions of radiant to the recycle bin in the sky?

People are still mapping for CodUO and up through the numbers. There are lots of good new maps for WW and the number grows everyday.

You want to map? Map.
