Hi guys

I've never done this before, so I thought I'd seek advice:

I have a "realistic" sprint feature in a mod I made for COD2 (and when I say "realistic", I mean almost the same as the sprinting in COD4 & 5 - where the weapon is slung high, across the screen, and bobs from side-to-side as you run). I want to record it in action, and upload it somewhere (utube? XFire? which is the best?). What is the best way to do this?

Cheers in advance

Use xfire to record and upload to xfire, then use the encoded mp4 to upload to youtube

But it real doesnt do it justice without seeing it "live".

Im not an XFire user, care to elaborate how to do it? Step-by-step would be helpful.

Im fine with the mpeg4 encoding, just the XFire bit I dont know anything about.

You could try CamStudio. Which is a completely free screen capture program.

Try Wegame its FREE and if you have a good enough computer you will be able to record in-game sequences to avi at better quality than fraps, camstudio and xfire put together.

Xfire is fairly simple for recording videos. It believe you just press Scroll Lock and V to record a video.

I'm not sure if the local video that Xfire records gets deleted after being uploaded to the Xfire Video section though.

Theres alot of documentation the Xfire site but relisitcally, it's verys elf explanatory once you get it installed ;)

I would record using the in-game recording function in COD, then watch it back and record over it with the WeGame tool.

You can then convert the avi using a multitude of tools online and upload to youtube. I have used xfire in the past and it's very easy but often has a blur to it.

Fraps is the worst program I have ever used as it gives out a blurry pixilated unprofessional look.

I use WeGame now and find it gives the best quality, and no I don't get paid to advertise for them [thumbs_up]
