Oi all,

I want to make some parts of my walls explodable as breakable windows. I know it is the same workaround to make this happen in the map but my question is what (common?) texture I should use so I can walk through the new hole.

If I would use Caulk, I can look through the hole but I cannot walk through it. There are many textures such as no clip, etc etc but I have no idea which one would work for it.

you will use caulk to construct the pieces of the broken and the unbroken wall
the unbroken wall will be removed, leaving on the broken section, thus allowing you to walk through any gaps in the construction (broken) that you left [angryalien]

Did that in a small testmap but no succes; the unbroken wallpart remains visible and I used the breakable window tut NO SCRIPTING.

However, I noticed the tut doesn't mention connecting the brushes from trigger -> unbroken -> broken (CTRL+K)

Is that ok or should these pieces always be connected?

note: i stopped the tut where the fx comes in since i wanted to test it quickly before adding the effects to it.

the linking is done by the exploder #

i cannot understand why there is so much confusion with the use of exploders (trust me...you are not the only one that has had an issue with it)...perhaps i will try and put together a more descriptive tutorial, though i thought the existing one was descriptive enough [angryalien]

I feel your pain Stryder so, I attempted to put together a small test map for it. Only problem is, there was a problem :( :(

Here's the .bsp, .map and .gsc along with some screen shots.

(if it will let me upload all of that) - never mind. Won't let me upload here :( :( I'll try to e-mail them to you.

Did you get all of the files Stryder? I'm at work so can't resend them and am going skiing this weekend. If you didn't get them let me know and I'll resend them as soon as I get home this evening. I included screen shots to show you what it was doing. I think it's working but just looks wierd.

If it's working okay then I'll clean it up a bit (or you can) and you'll have a test map.
