Was you on about my tutorial? If so! Did it work?

Dogs are easy, just follow the tutorial on the RGN wiki, if you get stuck just pm me or DadofAzz we will gladly talk you through it.

Ive followed your tut m8 but im not getting anywhere, i had some errors when converting but it seemed to make the iwi file so i thought i would just carry on and see what happens.

The problem i have got at the moment is when i try to compile the loadscreen.map i get this error:

ERROR: Could not open '../zone_source/english/assetlist/code_post_gfx_mp.csv'
ERROR: Could not open '../zone_source/english/assetlist/common_mp.csv'
(!) UNRECOVERABLE ERROR: key 'defeat' missing value in 'maps/mp_landing.csv'

here is whats in the csv from raw/maps/mp:

victoryBackdrop,$default
defeatBackdrop,defeat
levelBriefing,loadscreen_mp_landing

and here from Zone_Source:

ignore,code_post_gfx_mp
ignore,common_mp
ui_map,maps/mp_landing.csv

Been trying for a few hours now but not getting anywhere, got my mini map working first time though!! [rocking]

Managed to get this working, dont know how exactly but i basically deleted everything to do with the loadscreen and started again (about 5 times!!!) combined your tut with tally's work around and it worked eventually.

Thanks for the tut m8 it did help a lot!! [rocking]

Hi mate!

This is one of the reasons why i don't want to put it up as a tut yet, one thing i did notice though! (i had a .csv file already in maps, dunno why) but i just noticed this line in your post...

ui_map,maps/mp_landing.csv

it might have to be....

ui_map,maps/mp/mp_landing.csv

I dunno how i missed it 'sorry'

Apparently NoOd3lS tried the tut and it worked fine and he got his minimap working as well. (wonder if he's running xp)

No worries m8 your tut helped a lot, even though it didnt go smooth (been at it since 8pm and its now 03:20am lol) your tut did help a lot, i just had to read up a lot to get my head round it.

I did notice that but rather than adding /mp/ to the csv i just moved the file to maps, it didnt make a difference at the time.

To be honest i dont think it was the compile of the load.ff that was the major problem it was more the convertion of the image that wasnt working properly, i read this THIS and got it working.

ui_map,maps/mp_landing.csv is the correct location for a loadscreen csv file. Best not to advise people to put it in ui_map,maps/mp/ as the loadscreeen wont compile.

The location for stuff is all in the gdt files. This the level.gdt file (found in deffiles folder):

As you can see from the red text, the target directory is maps/, not maps/mp.

Hi mate!

I think i gave the wrong impression, sorry m8! I only offered it as a possible error, my original tut said to put it in maps/ but was told it should be maps/mp cos the rgn wiki says it as well, hence my previous post saying i had it in maps, i will change the tut back to maps/
