I have been working on a map for a couple months now. Originally I had some issues with creating my minimap. Well I sorted it out but now my map has changed and I need to update the minimap.

I know I should have waited to do the minimap once the map was done but I wanted to get a head start on how to do it.

Anyway I decided to update the minimap using the same tutorial as before. When I type the commands into the console, my view doesn't change and my gun vanishes. I'm no getting any errors either.

Anyone have any suggestions or do I need to recreate all the files from scratch just to update my mini map? I just need a new screen shot.....

Try recompiling the map under another name for the screen of the overview. I've experienced some strange behaviour trying to update a minimap.

And keep us up to date on how it goes.

I wasn't able to find any other way to do it besides compiling the map under a new name. I then loaded the map and did the whole process of taking the screenshot.

I then converted the screen shot and named it to work with the current files replacing the old minimap file. Either way It works now.

Next time learn to use the AWE4 Mod to do your minimap.

Makes life much easier, no problems or issues updating a old map with new minimap.

No dumb work-around trying to get the commands working ingame, its simple, and fast.

- All that is needed is a server.cfg (comes with the mod). (Probably don't even need it, could be added to Command line.)
- The Mod itself.
- And a Shortcut Command Line.
Done.

Run shortcut, game loads your map, which you defined in server.cfg. Spawn as player, open console, "set scr_minimap_height 10000" take screenshot, Done.

Do it 6 months from now and its the same even when map's been updated or changed. No Static. Mod is set up for minimap already.
