what do you mean by "missing fx" in the DLC? is there a fx missing used in one of the 4 new maps?

LOL. I guess you might not be a mapper/scripter!

No, the 4 new levels are fine.

It's the modtools 1.2 update including the DLC stuff. The entire FX folder was not included leaving a major whole in mapping.

The kids over at Treyarch will hopefully release this missing folder soon! I know alot of people are stuck with this problem and once its fixed alot of maps will be released!

gfy the raw efx are missing in the mod tools update and that means treyarch will probably not release them. search the forums next time, already discussed in detail.

Are the efx files compiled into the ff's as raw efx files? Is there a way of extracting them?

Without them you don't get the nice clouds of dust as the zombies rise.

You can't rip FX as far as I know.

efx files are compiled to directx 9 shader and there's no way to somehow convert this binary data back to plaintext. To be honest, there is small chance to decompile the shaders. But 'cause it involves two transformations (dx9 shader -> decompiled shader -> cod efx) it would probably last weeks or months to develop a working decompiler.

Thanks for the info, I kinda figured it was something like that as I did a memory dump and couldn't see any sign of any EFX files.

I don't think it's worth wasting time on.

The best approach may be to ask politely in the Treyarch/CoD forums for the missing content.

Failing that I will just have a go at making my own FX.
