hi there,

I wan't to use the waterdrops you see in the cave in the map creeck.. can't seem to find it in the fx folder.

Creek was part of the CoD4 DLC, which was released after the modtools. That's why they aren't included. IW didn't give us the source files used in the new maps.

Due to the fastfast building the converter compiles the EFX to DirectX 9 Shaders. So they don't stay plaintext and in addition, they get packed into FF. Even in theory the chance to decompile to raw EFX is really small (i had a look at the binary data) and to write a decompiler would last weeks or months. Hence you can't use the Creek EFX, but you can create your own in EffectsEd.

Hi. I have all the mp_creek files including the maps fx files and some sound files for the waterdrops. I don't know what part of the files you use but here is a link to all of the files in a zip file

the EFX files are missing, which have to be compiled into the map fastfile in order to use them unless they are in one of the always loaded fastfile (like common_mp.ff)

you can view and create EFX in EffectsEd

EFX is a plaintext format. due to the compile process they are converted to binary DirectX 9 shaders (as far as i saw)

the EFX files which came with the modtools are located here: \raw\fx\
