info" that wouldn't change with the extension of the file (*.pk3, *.zip)

phase, there should be shadows somewhere if only the sky is producing
light, as the "sun" is only in 1 spot, even if it was directly overhead,

1-slab of steel is the shader hasn't made the "steel" looking texture
translucent. -shader issue-

/doc*/user/desktop/maps instead of /maps in the PK3?

Now I just don't care...
The super simple way to get both of those answers, and a boat load of
prefabs, is to decompile the maps... Have FUN!!!
