Maya Scale correction rig tutorial
Downloaded 106 times
This video demonstrates how to create a rig to use to correct scaling errors of models to import into Radiant.

In Radiant 1 Unit = Scale*1 in Maya. World units do not apply. When you freeze transforms you mess up the scale of the model and either need to post scale it in Radiant or figure out how to fix the problem in Maya. This video was created so people can create a rig to gather the necessary information and apply it to their models to correctly export them.

Maya preferences
In CoD 1 world unit = 1 inch = 2.54 centimeters. As a lot of people are unaware that Maya defaults to centimeters, changing preferences to inches BEFORE any modelling performance is done will make things quite easier.

Do a 10 inch box and - when you're finished - scale it to 10 fold in all axes should get you a 10 world units box in radiant.

Do a "pseudo-10 inch box" (= which actually is a 10 centimeters box because you missed Maya defaults) you will have to apply a correction of 2.54 in all axes: scale to10 to match 10 radiant world units and multiply with 2.54 to match centimeters to inches, so in the end scale 2.54 * 10 = 25.4 fold in all axes.
