Video: Export from Alias Maya to HL2
Downloaded 1181 times

A video tutorial to teach the basics of importing a model from Alias Maya into Hammer.
The tutorial was originally written as part of a large development assignment for my University Degree in games design.

Topics Covered:
*set up basic mod
*Tools, importers required etc
*file structures
*Maya project setup and preferences
*Exporting model
*Compiling textures
*Placing into game

The tutorial is around 30 mins in length.
It presumes the viewer has good knowledge of the 'Hammer Editor', 'Source SDK' and 'Alias Maya'. It is not aimed at teaching Level Design/Modding/3D Modelling or the use of these software packages.

Thank you!
This was a very well explained tutorial and quite possibly the only one that I've been able to find on importing props from maya (they seem to be abundant in max). I hardly ever take time to post comments on hosted tutorials, but credit should be given to where it is due.

Thanks for taking time to record this.
