Call of Duty: World at War - Radiant errors

I think it would be a good idea to get all errors and missing files in one place regarding cod5's editor. Be sure to add any you come across and i will update the orginal post as a reference for everybody finding similar problems.

When available i will also update any fixes/workarounds found.

Missing

MP gametype prefabs
'sfx' folder containing missing sound files

Errors

No SP sounds
No 'cycle preview model' for sp nodes
Effects not working (other than zombie mode)

Improvements

Add option to 'update zone files'



Be sure to add your own as well as correct any listed that may be incorrect.

-Should be stated that only some FX specific to the zombie mode work. For instance I've been trying the zombie fog effects etc in multiplayer and single player to no avail.

-Also the maps work when you launch the game from the usual icon and not the launcher.

-Something as simple as a script error can crash the game, and the only way to force it to load and give you a complete error log is to place the FF in the zone/english and remove it from the other two directories.

note: Definitely need an update zone source file option with a generated missingassests.csv

Hey
im getting the error after i pick the .prj file and it says:

FATAL ERROR: Couldn't load material '$default'
GetLastError() = 0
An unrecoverable error has occurred. Would you like to edit the Preferences before exiting Q3Radiant

can anyone help me in solving this error. any help is greatly apreciated. the faster the fix the fast i can get a map out there

It sounds like you're on Vista, and although COD:WW is Vista friendly, it sounds like your PC is having none of it. Try running Radiant in administrator mode and in compatibility mode for Windows XP.

If you're not on Vista, I can't help you. Sorry

Hi,
after hours of trail and error and with some help from Pimprenelle I finally managed it to get the asset_manager to work

Please add this to the radiant error faq
You need the following packages

.Net Framework 2.0
.Net Framework 2.0 SP1

.Net Framework 3.0
.Net Framework 3.0 SP1

VC++2005 Redistributable
VC++ 2005 Redistributable SP1

additionally I have installed (not required I think)

.Net Framework 3.5
.Net Framework 3.5 SP1
VC++2008 Redistributable
VC++2008 Redistributable SP1

Hi. I'm getting this same error. I am running vista and open in admin but doesn't work. Anyone know how to fix this?

i had to install VC++ 2005 Redist (only had VC++ 2008 before)

Well when I downloaded the mod tools and Unzipped them, put them in the right spot, opened the Launch.exe file and tried to run I get the error "Failed to execute: converter -nopause" along when I try to run all of the other applications. One other error is When I try to "Create Map" I get the error "InvaildArgument=Value of '0' is not valid for 'SelectedIndex'. Parameter name: SelectedIndex. If you have any Tips for fixing these errors Help would me Very helpful.
