right bascally i think i have a trojan horse which my computer is not picknig up. i had 2 files 1 was called "cjeamu.exe" and the other "cqd.exe" mabey they are not trojan horses but they use over 160k process use (which is 2x that of my system!) anyway if i do ctrl alt and delete go to process and end the process that stops it. but it comes back on later. so i decied to search for them. i found "cjeamu.exe" it was in the "windows" folder in c drive but i cant find cqd.exe i left it running so it would be easier to find.

so what i am asking is, is there anyway to delete or locate a file when its running without using "search" because that doesnt help me

Thanks, Ukdjaj[thumbs_up]

These files could be registered as services. This means they run when the computer starts.

An easy way to check into this would be to go to Start > Run. Type "msconfig" (without quotes) and hit enter. This will open a GUI to manage the things that run when your computer starts.

Now when editing this, don't just start turning off things. Just turn off those that you think are a problem such as those you mentioned.

Before you start turning them off, you should Ctrl+Alt+Del and manually shut down those processes to see if that adversely effects your computer.

Go to Start > Run "regedit".
BTW. HKCU - HKEY_CURRENT_USER.

When I used Windows if I got a virus I would just reformat. Always feels better to know the virus is COMPLETELY gone.

Glad you got it fixed. Just a heads up though, you should never install windows while the machine is connected to the Internet. There are way to many opportunities for virus to get in. I hate to be the bearer of bad news but I would expect more virus issues.
