Only in doom3 does my game have white speckles on the screen . . .what is this caused by. Internet searches say its because i overclocked my gfx card but this is not true as i havent. Ive uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers and that hasnt helped. Has anyone else come across this probelm?

I remember ages ago when the game came out this happened on my screen but a reboot sorted it out.

i managed to play through the entire game without it looking like the way it does . . .can anyone help me?

hmm, I've never had this problem but I've been pretty lucky with game/editor errors. If I find anything about this problem and come up with a solution I'll let you know.

System Specs? and video drivers version?

my system is a p4 3.2 ghz, radeon 9800 pro, 1 gig ram.

Ive updated the gfx card (5.5 catalyst for the graphic card) and that didnt do much.

ive turned off fast write in mt gfx card settings and put the doom overall quality to very low.

The problem happens with no other game but doom i run Halo, Halflife 2, FFXI, UT2k4 on maximum settings with not a second of churn.

Like i said ive played through doom and completed it with no problems like this what so ever on maximum quality (yes i like super quality! and am mad if my gear wont do the max in anything). Tis a mystery but at £100 i may just explore the idea of a new gfx card. Anyone got any more solutions to this insanly bugging question

uninstall game, remove folder from program files, restart computer, reinstall game.

dont use your old config make a new one w/o tweaking it.
see if it works then add tweaks 1 by 1.
